161st Anniversary Events Planned For Johnsonville State Historic Park

New Johnsonville, Tenn. – Step back in time to visit the places and people of the Johnsonville Supply Depot to commemorate the 161st Anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Johnsonville on Saturday, November 1st through living history experiences. No battle reenacting will take place.

Enjoy free events at the park from 10am-4pm. Meet sailors of the Brownwater Navy and the soldiers of the 5th Ohio United States Colored Troops. Learn how the 1st Missouri Engineers built the defenses of Johnsonville. Hear the roar of the cannon along the banks of the Tennessee River. Find out how laundry workers, photographers, quartermasters, and musicians supported the operations of the Johnsonville Supply Depot.

At the Visitor Center enjoy meeting Civil War Presidents, Generals, and Civil War author Curt Fields while enjoying special presentations:

Unconditional Surrender – Ulysses S. Grant in the Civil War by Curt Fields and Chris Mackowski is now available for sale in the Gift Shop and author Curt Fields will be available to sign copies. No food vendors onsite.
